Individual Duathlon

Important Update:

July 1, 2014

Due to the mudslide on West River Parkway the Minneapolis Park Board has indefinitely closed a portion of the Minneapolis Duathlon Bike Course. We are working closely with the Park Board to design a NEW course in the event that the road will not be open in time for the event. Please stay posted to the website and to your email if you are registered for the event for updated course and event information.

Why not throw a little ride in with your run? Or a run in with your ride? The Minneapolis Duathlon is just the place to do it with this 5K run - 15.9-mile bike - 5K run through the heart of Minneapolis. This urban race is set for Sunday, August 24th, 2014 and will take all single participants or relay teams, no matter your ability, on a race you'll always remember.  Plus you will get the 2014 Gear and a stained glass finisher's medal.

"Running is a great sport..cycling is a great sport..why not marry the two and place it in the heart of a beautiful city," John Larson, Executive Director of Team Ortho said. But you don't have to be a running or cycling pro to compete. We hope you can do this race with the bike that is sitting your garage right now. The organization will put cyclists into different categories, depending on the style of bike used: road, mountain, commuter, or single speed.

Bike Categories are:

  • Road/Tri
  • Mountain
  • Commuter
  • Single Speed

Sorry no fixed gears, recumbent or tandem bikes allowed.

See Race Rules for more information.

Packet Pick-up will be held on Saturday, August 23rd.  We will NOT have race day packet pick-up.

Until the Start!
