Race Rules

Because this is a multisport event, there are many different rules for different events or even parts of an event.  Here you can familiarize yourself with the rules for the event you are participating in.  If you are new to multisport, please check in with our free duathlon training sessions which will help you prepare for race day.

General Race Rules for all events at Minneapolis Duathlon

  • Every participant riding a bike MUST wear a bike helmet. See USAT Rules.
  • The race director, officials, coordinators and volunteers ask all participants to be as kind and respectful as possible. Enormous effort has gone into assuring that each and every competitor has a safe, fun race. Abusive language and unsportsmanlike behavior can result in disqualification.
  • Wearing headphones or any sound-producing device during the race is not allowed. Due to the complexity of the multisport event, we ask you to leave these at home.
